The Namibian Institute of Culinary Education (21 NICE)

A Section 21 - Not for Profit Training Restaurant

The Namibian Institute of Culinary Education (NICE) is a chef finishing and training school linked to a training restaurant in the heart of Windhoek, which has established itself as a destination of culinary excellence. NICE is a Section 21 company and its training activities are managed by the Wolwedans Foundation Trust.

The purpose of NICE is to produce excellent and professional chefs for the high end of the Namibian tourism market. Students are trained in food preparation and food and beverage operations. The Foundation ensures that its trainees are also exposed to all aspects of F&B management too. In order to give trainees real life exposure to their profession, the training restaurant, which caters to a real public, is a functioning model facility, wholly cleaned and run by the trainees under the guidance and supervision of their facilitators.

Currently NICE and the Wolwedans Collection work together ona  joint training program hosted by the Wolwedans Foundation, exposing trainees to both lodge and city based hospitality and restaurant operations. The institutions have a good balance of theoretical and practical exposure to ensure that all graduates are 'employment ready' at the end of the program of their choice.
